Leakage and holes in AC/Heat ducts could cost a homeowner much more than you would expect. Letting your vents fall into disrepair could cause the conditioned air to seep through the cracks and waste the energy and cost necessary to produce it. The average older home leaks around 50% of its conditioned air, whereas new homes leak around 40%. These leaks can ultimately cost the homeowner money, as 20% of the energy consumed for their entire house seeps out of patchable holes in their AC/Heat vents. This waste of resources led to the invention of a new system in air duct sealing and repair, Aeroseal.

Kudos and five stars to Marco N. and RiteWay!Posted on Alexis StraussTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We own a 720 square foot mobile home. We wanted to install a split system, with existing vents. No vent work required. No electrical work required either. They had a “project manager” aka sales person come out to give us a quote. She was lovely and I really liked her and I know this isn’t her pricing. They quoted us $24,000 for a split system for a 720 square foot mobile home with existing vents and electrical already done. To put this in perspective- a nice split system unit is 3-4k. That means they want $20-21k in labor. Let’s say they send out 3 people and it takes 10 hours, that’s $700 an hour per worker. I work in the HVAC field, so I’m qualified when I say that you’re a HVAC technician not a brain surgeon. $700 an hour is absolutely bonkers. Then they say: well we have a great warranty! If you are paying $20k in labor then you’re actually paying for the warranty, it’s just wrapped up in a bow presented as “free” and “a courtesy”. I had two people tell me RiteWays pricing was outrageous prior to me getting the quote, I should’ve believed them LOLPosted on Matt HazeltonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Big surprise to see water pouring out from my water heater when I woke up. I called Rite Way first thing and they sent me someone within a half hour. Within 3 hours I have a new water heater installed. This could have been an absolutely disaster but, thank god, Rite Way came to the rescue.
More often than not, a duct tear is behind the walls or under the floors. It becomes extremely difficult to repair these leaks without an invasive repair that would include tearing down drywall and cleaning up a large mess. The Aeroseal system simply blocks all the exiting vents of an air duct system, and pumps particles of a special air duct sealing material through the ventilation system. The air is forced to escape through the cracks and leaks, and in doing so the particles build up on the rough edges of the tears. The continuous build-up solidifies and forms a rubbery seal. The Aeroseal method is successful in the repair of holes up to 5/8 inches in size.
The Aeroseal method can result in up to 90% reduction of leakage and always comes with a 10-year warranty from the manufacturer. Not only is the system of heating and air conditioning repair effective, it is environmentally friendly. The EPA fully endorses the Aeroseal method as an environmentally safe procedure to plug cracks in air ducts, and prevent wasted energy.
In addition to being an AC company, we handle heating, electrical and plumbing services. Contact us today for more info!
